The story of the Founder of the Consolata Missionaries accessible to everyone, in four languages
On the “Castelnuovo” page of the portal cam.consolata.eu, two new virtual tours are now available. They allow remote visits to the birthplaces of Giuseppe Cafasso and Giuseppe Allamano, during the centenary year of the death of the founder of the Consolata Missionaries, priests,brothers and sisters.

The project, developed by Mediacor, joins the already active virtual tour of the CAM (Cultures and Mission) in Turin and other initiatives aimed at preserving and sharing the historical heritage of the Institute.
Starting today, you can virtually visit Casa Allamano and Casa Cafasso – the two exhibition sites of the Consolata Missionaries in Castelnuovo Don Bosco – without leaving your home.
- The Platform: The two virtual tours are hosted on the “Castelnuovo” page of cam.consolata.eu, the portal of the “CAM – Cultures and Mission” Cultural Center.
- The Goal: This new digital tool brings the birthplaces and formative environments of Giuseppe Allamano to a global audience, precisely in the year marking the centenary of his death.
- The Experience: Through immersive 360° navigation, visitors can move freely through the rooms, discovering spaces, objects, and documents that tell the story of the founder’s life and the roots of the Consolata Missionaries with the same level of detail as an in-person visit.
A Barrier-Free Tool for Knowledge
The virtual tour does not replace a physical visit, but rather multiplies the opportunities for it. It is designed especially for those who, due to geographical distance or health conditions, cannot otherwise reach Castelnuovo Don Bosco.
This includes:
- Missionary communities scattered across the world.
- Faithful and scholars living far from Piedmont, Italy.
- People with physical or sensory disabilities for whom physical travel may be difficult or impossible.
Thanks to online navigation, the places that shaped the life of Giuseppe Allamano become accessible to anyone, at any time, breaking down physical barriers and promoting the Institute’s historical heritage as a shared, common asset.

The two virtual tours have been created in four languages – Italian, English, Portuguese, and Spanish – reflecting the international vocation of the Consolata Missionaries, who are active in Africa, the Americas, and Asia. This choice allows a much wider global audience to learn about the founder’s history and locations, making the memory of Giuseppe Allamano a true heritage for all missionary communities worldwide.
A Vital Piece in the Institute’s Heritage Network
The virtual tours of Casa Allamano and Casa Cafasso connect seamlessly with the active virtual tour of the Turin CAM, creating a unique digital journey. This bridge connects the places of origin in Castelnuovo Don Bosco with the Cultural Center in Turin, which hosts the multimedia exhibition dedicated to global missions and cultures.
This integrated virtual experience complements other ongoing initiatives celebrating the centenary of the death of founder Giuseppe Allamano.
