This event offered high-quality musical entertainment and had a significant social purpose: all the donations collected were donated to the Piccole Stelle d’Africa (Little Stars of Africa) Association of Montemarciano, which supports the projects of the Consolata missionaries in the Ivory Coast. The initiative united the community through music, words and testimonies, paying homage to the figure of Father Matteo Pettinari, a Consolata missionary who passed away in 2024 in Ivory Coast.
The musical program saw the participation of the Choir Nuova Speranza of Monte San Vito, directed by Maestro Carla Cardella with the piano played by Maestro Silvia Ercolani. The Santa Maria in Castagnola Polyphonic Choir also performed, directed by Maestro Letizia Rossi and accompanied on the piano by Maestro Manuel Manieri. There were also performances by the Musical Band of Chiaravalle and the Musical Band of Roberto Zappi di Monte San Vito, under the direction of Maestro Andrea Greganti and Emanuela Pettinari, cousin of Father Matteo. These groups brought a varied repertoire to the stage that emotionally involved the audience.
The event is part of a broader context of Christmas initiatives that aim to promote solidarity and support for the mission ad gentes of the missionaries in Ivory Coast. The choice to dedicate an evening to music as a fundraising eventl is particularly significant in a period of the year in which generosity, brotherhood and the birth of the Savior are celebrated. Through the active participation of citizens, the musical show represented an opportunity to reflect on the value of the gift of life of the missionary Father Matteo Pettinari, native of Chiaravalle, and on the importance of cooperation as an expression of consolation and universal closeness.
“Note Solidali” was a musical event and a true celebration of solidarity cooperation. With the hope that this initiative around the person of Father Matteo may become an annual event of recognition and gratitude for his life given to the mission, remembering that every small gesture can make a big difference in the lives of our Ivorian brothers and sisters.
