Spiritual journey: “The Founder and the Eucharist”

In continuity with the spiritual journey proposed by the two General Councils, IMC – MC, and in preparation for the canonization of Blessed Joseph Allamano, we publish the second reflection entitled “The Founder and the Eucharist”.

The invitation is to “listen to a Father who loves his sons and daughters, sitting around Him, feeling Him close and present in our lives and on the mission journey” in view of the great event on October 20, 2024 in Rome and Turin.

The first reflection published on June 16th invited us to meditate on the Founder and his devotion to Our LadyConsolata. The meditation of July 16, 2024, in turn, highlights Blessed Allamano’s love for the Eucharist.

“Those who knew Allamano could not help but marvel at the devotion and love with which he celebrated the Eucharist and visited the Blessed Sacrament. One of the first Consolata missionaries trained by Allamano, Father Lorenzo Sales, wrote: «If I had to put it in concrete terms, I would say that if you squeezed the heart and soul of Allamano in terms of his spiritual life, you would get a consecrated host»”. (Positio super virtutibus, Rome 1986, note 47, p. 229)
