This sixth episode in the series of videos dedicated to preparing for the celebration of the Centenary of Saint Giuseppe Allamano (February 16, 2026) focuses on recounting the missionary experience of the Consolata family among the Yanomami people in the state of Roraima, Brazil. It does so through the testimonies of Father Corrado Dalmonego, Sister Felicita Muthoni, and Bishop Roque Paloschi—currently Archbishop of Porto Velho, Rondônia, but formerly Bishop of Roraima.
The Consolata family has been present among the Yanomami people for 60 years. The miracle that led to the canonization of Saint Giuseppe Allamano had as its protagonist Sorino, a Yanomami man living in Catrimani, the village of the Consolata’s first mission among this people. The Catrimani Mission was founded in 1965 by Fathers Bindo Meldonesi and Giovanni Calleri, 250 kilometers from Boa Vista, to accompany and support the indigenous Yanomami communities of the region.
