“We believe that St. Joseph Allamano is a lighted lamp, which should not be placed under a bushel, but on the candelabrum, so that it may shine in the Church just as he has shone for us in the Institute”.

“We must not, therefore, reserve this light for ourselves alone, nor keep it hidden within our Institutes. This is what the gospel invites us to do when it says ‘Let your light shine before men’ (Mt 5:16)”.
These are the words of the Director of Postulation, Fr. Jonah M. Makau, IMC, in his message on the occasion of the first anniversary of the canonization of St. Joseph Allamano, the Founder of the Consolata Missionaries, on October 20, 2025.
“The office of postulation encourages all of us to celebrate solemnly and, where possible, to encourage the participation of the people of God. Let us renew the tradition of recalling the testimony of his life, his teaching and his missionary insights. Let us also make our Founder’s pedagogy on prayer known to the people of God in addition to his “loves”, which include the Eucharist and the Blessed virgin Mary (Our Lady Consolata)”, says the Postulator.
“May this first anniversary of the canonization of our Founder be for us an impetus of Spiritual renewal, according to the identity and demands of our missionary vocation, enriched by our charism”.
