Born in 1966 in Manizales (Caldas), Colombia, Consolata Missionary Father Ferney de Jesús Nicán Londoño, 59 years old, is the son of Ramón and Ana Ligia. In this video, recorded in Rome in May 2025 during the ongoing formation course G25, on the occasion of his 25th anniversary of ordination, Father Ferney thanks God for having allowed him to “serve Him in the Church for the good of the most needy throughout the world.”

According to the missionary, who currently works in Medellín, the mission “is a project entrusted to the Consolata Missionaries with the purpose and intention of accompanying and building God’s project in the midst of communities. A project in which we can all live together in peace, justice and fraternity, building a universal family.”

Father Ferney leaves a message for the young people of the world, encouraging them to “create a project of life and hope for all humanity, where we can all live as one single family, the family of God, where injustices and everything that causes death and pain disappear. This is because God has blessed us with peace and with so many blessings so that we may all become new men and women.”

In this regard, he recalls having met the Consolata Missionaries in Manizales when he was still a child. There he came to know Father Ezio Roattino, Father Domenico Galbusera, Father Ezio Parolin, and many other missionaries (Gerardo Bottacin, Antonio Marini) who guided him through their witness and their work. “It was there that I came to know this beautiful way of life of the Consolata Missionaries. After completing primary and secondary school, I joined this wonderful community,” said the missionary with a sense of fulfillment.

Father Ferney completed his basic formation in Colombia and continued his specialization in Spain before being ordained a priest on October 23, 1999. He then went to Kenya, where he worked for two years at the Loyangallani mission in the north of the country. Upon returning to Colombia, he worked in mission in various communities. The missionary expresses his joy at the opportunity to “live this time of grace in the Year of Hope and Mercy, in which God grants us so many blessings to build His project.”
