A Fruitful Event of Consolation in Ivory Coast

In Ivory Coast, the Consolata missionaries are sowing consolation and hope through the S.A.G.O. project (Looking Ahead, School and Agriculture), and the recent inauguration of the new nursery school “Padre Matteo Pettinari, IMC” in the village of Sago.

This nursery school is not simply another building added to many others, but a work that contextualizes Consolation within the Ivorian territory, in the fight against illiteracy and in fostering the human and spiritual growth of the youngest children.

The expansion of pre-school educational provision responds to an urgent need: to give the children of the village of Sago – where the missionaries arrived in 1997 – the first foundations for a bright future, uniting education with the proclamation of the Gospel.

The school represents the missionary fruitfulness born of the legacy of Saint Joseph Allamano. Here, children not only learn to read and write, but grow in an environment that nurtures the heart, sowing seeds of holiness. It is “the proclamation that becomes consolation,” rooted in the present African reality.

To ensure the sustainability of this project, the missionaries of the delegation have boosted the productivity of the palm oil plantation through the purchase of a truck. Products now reach the market directly, without intermediaries, increasing profitability in support of community life and of the educational and social works of the Consolata missionaries, who have been present in Ivory Coast for over thirty years.

The YouTube video available at the following link from @consolataivoire will let you discover the joy of life and the smiles of the children of this new school in the Ivorian village of Sago.
