Fr. James Lengarin: “Christ conquered death and reminds us that hope is alive”

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in faith, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13)

“Let us rejoice and be glad because “Christ, our Passover, has been sacrificed” (1 Cor 5:7-8). Encouraged by this certainty, as we live the year dedicated to our patron, St Joseph Allamano, and celebrate the Jubilee of Hope, I would like to express to all of you my wish that the Resurrection of Christ may revive hope and express all its potential for our mission of consolation”.

These are the words of the Superior General, Father James Bhola Lengarin, IMC, at the beginning of his Easter 2025 Message sent to all Consolata missionaries and lay people, relatives, friends and benefactors.

The Father General continues: “Let us allow ourselves to be shrouded by the dynamism of Easter, to experience God’s mercy and the power of Jesus’ resurrection, which will fill our hearts with joy so that we can share it with others”.

The same reflection is reinforced in a video produced by the Office for Communication.

“The hope rooted in the Easter of the Lord must be witnessed in the mission through gestures that communicate Christ’s victory over sin and death, that transform “consolation” into a seed of hope for every person, no one excluded, because everyone has the right to hope for a better life”, says Father James Lengarin.
