Blessed is the person whose strength is in You, In whose heart are the roads to Jerusalem! (Ps 84:5)
We are nearing the end of a journey, little time is left before we celebrate the canonization of Blessed Joseph Allamano, so, like pilgrims on a journey, we want to live this stage of preparation as an opportunity for change.
To set off on a journey your legs are not enough, you need to prepare your heart and mind, and have clear expectations to achieve during the pilgrimage. It is therefore necessary to involve the whole person, everything that we are, journeying together, stage after stage, with many other pilgrims that we will find along the way, so that the joy of meeting in diversity manifests the universality of the Church and missionary joy.
This canonization program is a pilgrimage that must give ardour to our hearts and spur our steps to thank the Lord who gives his Church the gift of the holiness of Joseph Allamano which “is first and foremost the experience of being loved by God, of freely receiving his love, his mercy…with the certainty of being able to face everything with the grace and boldness that come from God” (Pope Francis, 6 October 2022).
We entrust ourselves to Our Lady Consolata, the journeying woman, and we ask for her blessing to live intensely all the stages that we will celebrate in Rome and in Turin, where Allamano spent his entire life.
