Let’s be honest: today it’s all anyone talks about. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has entered our lives like a cyclone. Could our G50 course avoid the topic of the century? Of course not. So, for those of us who live the mission and the proclamation of the Gospel, is AI really a threat to flee from, or an opportunity to seize?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Pope Leo XIV, in his first encyclical, invites us not to be afraid, but to look at this revolution with attentive eyes and an open heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let’s try, then, to understand how AI is changing the world and how it can become an ally on our missionary journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To help us in this work of discernment, on Monday afternoon, just back from Turin, we were treated in our Auditorium to a truly masterful lecture by Andrea Tornielli. Yes, him \u2014 the super-editorial director of the Vatican media, the man who coordinates radio, TV, L’Osservatore Romano, and the clicks of Vatican News. Having him there in the Auditorium was an incredible coup. Between one anecdote and another about the Popes he’s worked closely with \u2014 from John Paul II up to Pope Leo (who, for the record, has a degree in mathematics and jokes around with computers) \u2014 he gave us a landslide of gems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
