Patias<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Born in 1969 in Musoma, in the Mara region of Tanzania, Emmanuel Chacha is the son of Pius Chacha and Rozalia Nyagone. The missionary, currently serving at the Consolata parish in Iringa, shares his vocation story, formation journey, and mission in Tanzania, Mozambique, Colombia, and Argentina in this video, recorded in Rome in September 2025 during the G25 ongoing formation course.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>By Jaime C. Patias *<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chacha completed his primary and secondary studies in his village. After high school, he did one year of compulsory military service. During this time, he received a leaflet with information about the Consolata Missionaries. &#8220;I enrolled in the Propaedeutic in Mafinga and then attended the philosophical seminary in Morogoro,&#8221; explains Emmanuel Pius Chacha. In 1998 he completed his Novitiate in Mozambique, and after his first religious profession he left for Colombia, where he studied theology in Bogot\u00e1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Padre Emmanuel Chacha: \u201cStare in mezzo alla gente per testimoniare il Vangelo\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HM72x2G3t3A?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His priestly ordination took place in Musoma, his native land, on January 6, 2004, and that same year he was sent on mission to Argentina. &#8220;This was my first mission, and it lasted almost ten years. Initially I worked in vocational animation in Buenos Aires, then in pastoral care in the parish of Merlo, and later I was sent to Mendoza,&#8221; Father Chacha recounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After ten years in Argentina, Father Chacha returned to Tanzania and worked as parish priest for four years at San Marco parish in Mjimwema, Dar es Salaam. Then came another challenge: forming young philosophy students at the Saint Joseph Allamano Seminary in Morogoro, where he served as rector. After a period as chaplain of the Mamma Clementina Foundation in Moshi, Father Chacha is currently parish priest of the new Consolata Shrine in Iringa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Regarding the course attended in Rome, Father Chacha says he is happy and grateful for the opportunity. &#8220;I am doing my best to reflect on my missionary and priestly life and renew my vocation as a Consolata missionary.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/consolataafrica.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/20260617Chcha3-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6315\" srcset=\"https:\/\/consolataafrica.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/20260617Chcha3-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/consolataafrica.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/20260617Chcha3-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/consolataafrica.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/20260617Chcha3-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/consolataafrica.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/20260617Chcha3.jpg 1230w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Participants in the G25 continuing education course at the birthplace of Saint Joseph Allamano<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Father Chacha also says that his mission in Latin America taught him a great deal about the importance of being among the people to witness the Gospel. &#8220;This is a fundamental aspect: going out among the people and living the Gospel there. As Consolata missionaries, we strive to console, we seek to comfort people in their different situations. This is important because we are called to bring the Word of the Lord to the world,&#8221; he says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In celebrating his Priestly Jubilee, 25 years of ordination, Father Chacha had the opportunity to visit the historic places of Saint Joseph Allamano in Castelnuovo Don Bosco and Turin. &#8220;It is a privilege to have this time to live and experience the roots of our foundation, the roots of our Institute. I visited the Founder&#8217;s tomb to remember his missionary spirit, and this helped me revive my own missionary spirit, my vocation, and my religious life,&#8221; Father Chacha added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"fonte wp-block-paragraph\">* Father Jaime C.
