Photo: Archive IMC<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>During the Ordinary Public Consistory this Monday, July 1st, Pope Francis announced that the canonization of Blessed Joseph Allamano, founder of the Consolata Missionary Institutes, will be held on Sunday 20th October 2024 in Rome.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>By Stefania Raspo and Fr. Patias *<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The miracle attributed to the intercession of Blessed Joseph Allamano took place in the Brazilian Amazon rainforest, in the State of Roraima, where Sorino, a man belonging to the Yanomami ethnic group, was attacked by a jaguar that seriously wounded him in the head, opening the skull; It was February 7, 1996, the first day of the novena to Blessed Joseph Allamano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Transported to the Hospital of Boa Vista, and cared for by the Consolata Sisters who did not cease to pray for his healing through the intercession of the Father Founder, Sorino miraculously recovered his health in a few months, and still lives in his indigenous community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The diocesan inquiry for the study of the alleged miracle took place in March 2021 in Boa Vista, while the process of the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints ended on May 23, 2024, with the approval of the decree recognizing the miracle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a very significant moment for the Consolata missionary family, which is made up of Fathers, Brothers, Sisters, lay men and women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sr. Renata Conti and Fr.
